As a federal guarantor, providing ongoing training and customer service for financial aid personnel at postsecondary institutions is one of our agency's primary missions.
The following lists the different training sessions AES offers, including those sponsored by PFAT, PHEAA Regional Services, and PA State Grant and Special Programs.

Webinars inform participants of delivery system changes, technical updates mandated by the U.S. Department of Education, and FAS system enhancements for the upcoming award year.

AES Web and Loan Processing Options Survey Webinars Webinars review each portion of the survey, discuss the benefits of the various processing options, and assist schools in completing the annual web and loan processing options survey.
PFAT Teleconference March 6, 2009
Annual teleconference provides information on current topics - and updates on both federal and state resources - to help prepare for the next financial aid awarding cycle.
PHEAA FAFSA Completion Sessions Workshops assist Pennsylvania families with completing the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). Contact your PHEAA Regional Office for more information.

PASFAA Spring Training Seminars April 2, 2009 (West) and April 8, 2009 (East)
Day-long conference offers the latest information in student financial aid administration, federal regulations, and administrative topics, as well as PHEAA updates. Register at pasfaa.org.
2009 PFAT Don Raley Institute June 15-19, 2009
Week-long nuts and bolts program provides new financial aid administrators with an opportunity to network with others in the financial aid community and receive intensive training in a casual atmosphere.
PFAT Intermediate Summer Institute for Financial Aid Administrators Two and one-half day informal program and discussion for financial aid administrators with three or more years experience. Runs concurrent with the Don Raley Institute and opposite years of the PFAT Financial Aid Basics Seminar.
July - September 2009
Pennsylvania State Grant Program Certification Procedures Workshops Workshops for financial aid personnel responsible for working with and administering the Pennsylvania State Grant Program provide a comprehensive, yet basic, review of the certification procedures for the upcoming year.
AES Financial Aid Services (FAS) TEACH Training Webinars provide an overview of TEACH processing and inform participants of release dates, school set-up, and FAS system functionality.
October - December 2009
AES Fall Training Workshops Workshops update postsecondary financial aid personnel on a wide range of topics and new developments relative to all AES programs and initiatives. The Education Services Group hosts these workshops in September, October, and November at multiple locations throughout Pennsylvania, Delaware, and West Virginia.
PFAT Business, Trade, and Technical Seminars Seminars address the specific needs of business, trade, and technical school administrators who find it difficult to keep current with changes in financial aid. Seminars run opposite years of the PFAT Support Staff Seminars.
PFAT Fundamentals Training Workshop A basic overview of financial aid programs for new financial aid administrators and staff. These two half-day sessions allow new aid administrators an opportunity to ask questions prior to the PASFAA Conference and better understand and relate to conference topics. Register at pasfaa.org.
PFAT Leadership Development Popular training for PASFAA members who aspire to evolve as leaders within the association. Only nominated participants may attend these two half-day sessions held the weekend of the PASFAA conference. For more details or a nomination form, visit pasfaa.org.
PHEAA Counselor Training Workshops Workshops provide high school counselors with updates and information on financial aid programs including PHEAA, federal, and school-administered aid programs for students. Counselors receive Act 48 credits for attending. Contact your PHEAA Regional Office for more information.
